The System tab serves as the main dashboard and control center of the Linux Unlock app, providing real-time charts for CPU, RAM, disk, and network activity—complete with performance thresholds, historical data, and a live health overview powered by psutil and pyqtgraph. It also manages persistent configuration through a JSON settings file and maintains an audit log of user actions, functioning like a car’s digital dashboard that monitors system health, alerts you to issues, and remembers your custom settings.
AutoScript Studio
The AutoScript Studio tab in Linux Unlock is a dedicated workspace for creating and running automation scripts directly within the app’s interface. It’s a core, required component that lets users easily draft and execute custom scripts, serving as an integrated environment for automation and advanced scripting tasks.
Terminal Access
The Terminal tab in Linux Unlock is an integrated command-line interface that provides a full PTY shell for running Linux commands directly within the app. It features live-streaming output, an input box with Send and Clear controls, and optional enhanced rendering via pyte, offering users a smooth, interactive environment for executing and managing system commands without leaving the desktop.
Command
The Command tab in Linux Unlock serves as an offline, searchable library that gives users instant access to Linux and Kali reference materials directly within the app. By linking a folder of PDFs through the command_info_dir setting, users can search and open guides, manuals, and command references—optionally accelerated with tools like pdfgrep—making it a built-in, always-available field manual for quick lookups and workflow support.
Kali Supported
The Kali tab in Linux Unlock is a dedicated workspace for performing Kali Linux–specific tasks directly within the app. Built from kali.py as a core component, it serves as the user’s operational hub for penetration testing and ethical hacking, working seamlessly with the Command tab to provide instant, offline access to Kali documentation, command references, and workflow guides.
Getting Help
The Help tab in an all-in-one support centre that combines in-app settings, AI-powered assistance, and integrated web search to guide users through any task or issue. It lets you adjust preferences, ask real-time questions, and instantly find answers or documentation.
